Feminists Organized to Resist, Create, and Empower (FORCE)
WGSS' internship program and feminist organization, with a history pre-dating the center as the original student leaders who ran the Women's Center from 1975-2009 before the Women & Gender Student Space (then called Women's Resource Center and then Women & Gender Resource Center) was founded. They are now the leaders of the Feminist Pharmacy and host weekly Sip n Bitch feminist consciousness events, as well as annual initiatives like Tucson's very own Slut Walk.
Planned Parenthood Generation Action
The University of Arizona's Planned Parenthood Generation Action chapter leads educational and community-building events focused on advocacy and awareness-raising around abortion, reproductive healthcare, sexual health, and more. They host events in WGSS and also have various action committees where students can lead initiatives related to the mission of this youth-led organization.
Students For Socialism
Students for Socialism strives to raise the consciousness of the study body around capitalism and socialism through political education, direct actions, and collaboration with other student clubs and community organizations. They meet weekly in WGSS.
Girl Rising
UA Girl Rising is for all those who are interested in spreading awareness and advocating for women's education, health, and condition in society. They focus on service projects in partnership with various organizations on campus and in Tucson and host social and fundraising events. Their goals are: Make a difference, raise awareness, empower women, and build community & friendships.
PERIOD.
PERIOD is a youth-led national movement, and the University of Arizona's chapter's mission is to eliminate period poverty through advocacy, education, and service. They also lead educational initiatives which address menstrual taboos. They meet twice monthly in the 404 suite, where WGSS is located.
Reproductive Freedom for All
Repro Freedom for All is a national organization that advocates for abortion access at the political level, through voter engagement, political candidate endorsements, and other large-scale events and initiatives meant to target abortion access at the polls and in legislature. Their student-led chapter is a club which teaches students how to get involved in this kind of political engagement and provides opportunities for voter outreach and community initiatives to raise awareness about reproductive health and freedom.
